Jun 25, 2011 XBOX Boss In ?Vita Won?t Be Successful? Shocker

Smart-Phones. Smart-Phones. Smart-Phones. Zzz.Is anyone else bored to tears of being told what they want to play? Apparently it's not ok for us to be excited about a new entry in the Everybody's Golf series, because we should be playing GameLoft's shitty Let's Golf rip-off or Flick Golf or something. We shouldn't be excited for the likes of Wipeout 2048, Sound Shapes and Street Fighter X Tekken because smart-phones are taking over the world. How dare we forget. We must start playing games more on our smart-phone because they are the future of the handheld market. But we're not going to.http://www.pushsquare.com/27908/xbox-boss-in-vita-wont-be-successful-shocker/

Sony Demonstrates PlayStation Vita?s ?Face Control? Technology

PlayStation Vita?s ?Face Control? technology was demonstrated in Tokyo this week. It uses the Vita?s front-facing cameras to super-impose animated character model overlays on top of the users. The technology is reasonably impressive, apart from when it?s trying to detect blinking. That ends up looking a bit scary.

Jul 8, 2011Codemasters Reveals New F1 2011 PlayStation Vita Details

Sony's NGP (PSP2), Jun 5, 2011, 5:06 AM, YourPSHome.net, 2854
Codemasters Is Taking The PlayStation Vita Version Of F1 2011 Very Seriously.
While the PlayStation 3 version of* F1 2011 has only just got its first trailer, Codemasters has also revealed some fresh details about the PlayStation Vita version of the game. According to Dealspwn, the handheld racing game will be comparable to the full console release, with full seasons and complete race distances.?It?s not a straight port, obviously, because you can?t have things like sixteen player multiplayer,? Codemasters? Andy Gray told the website. ?Multiplayer is restricted to four players both ad-hoc and infrastructure modes. But pretty much, wherever possible, it is a full conversion of the game so that you?ll have the ability to do full race distances if you want, the ability to do full weekends, even a whole season.

PlayStation Vita?s Social Features With Happy Faces & Catchy Synth Riffs

Jul 8, 2011Sony Introduces PlayStation Vita?s Social Features With Happy Faces & Catchy Synth RiffsCategory: News, PlayStation VitaTags: hardware, sony, TrailersSony?s released a new PlayStation Vita trailer demonstrating many of the system?s social features, including Party and Near. The lifestyle video features tons of new gameplay footage from various Vita games, but is most used to demonstrate the system?s array of networking capabilities. What?s interesting about the trailer is its portrayal of users within the 18-35 demographic, which looks certain to be Sony?s target audience when the system releases later in the year. The social stuff does look really cool, but we don?t necessarily need grinning faces to tell us why.

Sony's NGP (PSP2), Jun 5, 2011, 5:06 AM, YourPSHome.net, 2854
Sony?s snatched up another exclusive developer; PS Vita?s LittleBigPlanetdeveloper Double Eleven ? formed by former Rockstar engineers ? will from now on be developing for PlayStation and PlayStation alone, Sony?s announced.Next to LittleBigPlanet, the studio will also create ?new titles for Sony platforms.? Sony Engineers Discuss the PSP Remaster Project

Sony's NGP (PSP2), Jun 5, 2011, 5:06 AM, YourPSHome.net, 2854
How Sony makes it easy to create PS3-compatible HD versions of portable titles.
The PSP Remaster project, first announced in May and discussed in detail at a developer event in Tokyo last month, allows game makers to take PSP titles and emulate them on the PlayStation 3. They're free to add HD-level graphics, surround-sound, 3D visual support, save-game transferring between the PS3 and PSP, and even completely new features not seen in the PSP original. The project is hot news in Japan right now, chiefly because its first launch title -- due out August 25 over there -- is an HD-compatible version of Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, the PSP killer app that's sold nearly 4.5 million copies across Asia.

Japan Review Check: Kirby Mass Attack, Epic Mickey

Sony's NGP (PSP2), Jun 5, 2011, 5:06 AM, YourPSHome.net, 2854
Plus: Half-Minute Hero returns to PSP screens.
- Half-Minute Hero 2(8/9/9/8, 34 points): The sequel to one of the goofier PSP releases of 2009 also gets remarkably good scores in Famitsu. "The unique gameplay, where you have to work as efficiently as possible within the time limit, is great fun," they wrote. "The game's on the harder side, but it seems like it's set on just the right level of difficulty to me. There's a mode without time limits, either, so you're now able to really get into the game this time if you like."

Sony cut Vita RAM, dev confirms?

The alleged rumors that Sony had cut the RAM capacity of its upcoming handheld, the PS Vita, has now apparently been confirmed by Novarama*CEO*Dani Sánchez-Crespo, without him actually saying it.When asked about it during a interview, Sánchez-Crespo answered developers will ?have a whole lot of headroom in terms of GPU power, CPU power and indeed RAM,? implying that ?won?t affect? them, nor Novarama itself. The funny thing about all this is that we?re currently speculating about something we have no information on; Sony has actually never revealed any official numbers in this matter. The 512MB the system was believed to be hosting, was pure speculation. The reduction to 256MB back in May was nothing but speculation as well, as*Sony Worldwide Studios head Shuhei Yoshida implied when saying, ?do not believe everything you read on the Internet.?

EA's put out some new, all in-game footage from November's Need for Speed: The Run. For a moment there we though we're looking at last year's Hot Pursuit; this particular section of the 'San Francisco to New York' racer it bares quite the resemblance.

PlayStation Vita?s online modes detailed

Sony's NGP (PSP2), Jun 5, 2011, 5:06 AM, YourPSHome.net, 2854
Sony, and in particular Sony Europe manager of R&D Phil Rogers,*has spilled some new information about the company?s upcoming portable system PlayStation Vita and its online modes: Near, Party, LiveArea and Activity.
Near:*?What Near does is it allows users to discover each other, leave gifts for each other and essentially find out more about games. You can see where people are in relation to your location, their five most recently played games and also gifts that they?ve registered. This is fairly cool because it exposes users to games they might not have heard of and you can see how popular those games are and how people are rating them,? explained Rogers.

Jul 30, 2011Blockbuster Teases October 28th UK Release Date For PlayStation Vita

Oh Blockbuster, we?ve never wanted you to be more right about anything in your entire stained-carpeted existence. The UK leg of the video rental company is sending out fliers teasing an October 28th release date for the PlayStation Vita in Britain. The promotion was sent into IGN, and looks legit to us.Of course, the bigger issue stems from whether Blockbuster actually has inside information or is just playing a game of guesswork. We?ve literally got everythingcrossed for the former.

Rumor: PlayStation Vita arriving in UK on October 28

Sony's NGP (PSP2), Jun 5, 2011, 5:06 AM, YourPSHome.net, 2854
We already know Sony?s new $250 handheld, PlayStation Vita, is going to arrive by April next year at the latest, but its firm UK release date may have just gotten spoiled.According to a Blockbuster memo obtained by IGN, the Vita will arrive on? October 28.It?s entirely possible the retailer simply goofed, but October certainly is not a wild guess. And just two days before Halloween, too! No word on a North American release date so far.

Rubicon given free PS Vita dev kits

Sony's NGP (PSP2), Jun 5, 2011, 5:06 AM, YourPSHome.net, 2854
Isle of Wight-based developer Rubicon has reportedly gotten its hands on early PS Vita dev kits for free, courtesy of Sony. Four devices have been loaned to the studio to make an ?upgraded? version of its iOS title Great Little War Gamefor the Vita, much to the delight of technical director Steven Haggerty.?They?ve just always been so useful in dealing with us,? said Haggerty, adding: ?we?ve worked with Apple, and you can?t get anything out of them. Microsoft rarely responds and I suppose Nintendo are okay, but Sony are always there to help. They always get back to you.?

PS Vita does more than just games

Sony's NGP (PSP2), Jun 5, 2011, 5:06 AM, YourPSHome.net, 2854
There will be more uses to Sony?s upcoming PS Vita than just gaming on-the-go. Sony*Europe?s Research and Development manager Phil Rogers explained that the portable console will be able to act not only as a display, but as a controller as well, among other things.?Here?s a few boring technical ideas: you could drive a display from a PS3 game,? said Rogers. ?PS3 can send data down to Vita and Vita can display it. You could use the unique features of Vita ? gyroscope, touch front and back ? as a control device for a PS3 game.?Rogers also added that software can be run on both devices and use network to sync the game states, which apparently is ?pretty good, because you then have the processing power of PS3 doing that work, Vita doing fancy graphics ? however you want to do it.

?No need? for lower PS Vita price ? Hirai

Sony's NGP (PSP2), Jun 5, 2011, 5:06 AM, YourPSHome.net, 2854
Nintendo?s surprise 3DS price cuts have put no pressure on Sony to do the same for its upcoming PS Vita, the company has said. There is ?no need? for a launch price reduction, according to chairman Kaz Hirai.Chatting with reporters at Sony?s Tokyo HQ recently, Hirai elaborated: ?We packed so much into the device and made it very affordable. There is no need to lower the price just because somebody else that happens to be in the video game business decided that they were going to lower their price.?The device will launch in Japan this year with the date due to be announced at the Tokyo Game Show next month. North America and Europe have to wait until early 2012.
