Lockwood Publishing Working on Vita Title

    Lockwood Publishing, Feb 13, 2012, 8:46 PM, YourPSHome.net, 6230
Lockwood Publishing, best known for working on a ton of PS Home games and spaces is also working on a Vita title.

Considering Lockwood Publishing has worked almost exclusively on Home projects – such as Uncharted 2, Assassin’s Creed, Killzone 3 and Dead Island spaces and the games SodiumOne, Sodium2 and upcoming Home RPG Mercia: Fractured Realms – it’s surprising to see that the developer and self publisher has set its eyes on Sony’s handheld platform.

We’ve spotted several LinkedIn profiles for Lockwood, such as that of the Director and Co-Founder Joel Kemp,
    which says [emphasis added]:

Lockwood Publishing is a Freemium Games and Virtual Goods Publisher specialising in PlayStation Home and Unity 3D, with Lockwood Studios doing the development work for PlayStation Home and Sony Vita.

Previous Lockwood developer Aaron Jenkins also states that they are working on an “Unannounced Title” for Vita.

It’s a bit of a leap of the imagination to suggest this means that Home is coming to Vita, and rather more likely that Lockwood is working on a freemium digital title for the handheld. If we’re lucky, we might see the game at Sony’s E3 conference tomorrow.

That would be interesting..I wonder how they would transition it if possible. It might be too early to say. In my opinion it might be just creating 3-D models in a game, even so I think it would be beneficial for Home overall for Lockwood to gain promotion.

Interesting to hear, thanks Al for the information.

[h=1]Mercian Diaries – Get Equipped![/h] So you picked up your FREE Warrior Starter Pack at the 2012 SCEA E3® Booth, right? Well, the sword and shield are just the beginning. In Mercia: Fractured Realms you can play as one of three warrior archetypes, giving you access to an array of different weapons. Exciting, we know!
Lockwood Publishing, Feb 13, 2012, 8:46 PM, YourPSHome.net, 6230 To further whet your appetite for the upcoming release of our PlayStation®Home exclusive RPG, we’re going to unveil some of the weapons that you can wield in the game and also explain a little about their development. There are three different classes of warrior to choose from and the range of weapons will vary between each class – it’s worth trying them all to find the one that suits you. We wanted to make each character class feel distinctly different from each other, so there’s a difference to the play style of each one. To cut a long story short; it takes a huge spreadsheet, a whiteboard and lots of coffee to sit down and get that really sweet spot of balance between practicality and an immersive player class.

Lockwood Publishing, Feb 13, 2012, 8:46 PM, YourPSHome.net, 6230 Each character archetype is better suited at dealing with a different type of enemy, as the warrior classes evolved over the course of production, so too did the types of weapon. This helped define how they would appear and be distinguished from one another, but also suit how you might want to look and feel while playing. To start with, we took a mix of standard fantasy style weapons such as swords and bows, but also added a range of alternative weapon types including clubs and staffs, and began hashing out basic concepts. Then, concerned with being derivative of other games of this kind, we decided to move away from the traditional medieval European fantasy style, and looked into ancient cultures that had limited access to metal, and therefore had to be more creative, such as the Mayans and South Sea Islanders. This allowed us to experiment with more unusual designs and materials such as wood, bone and stone.

    excellent news!

I hope they make the teleports use less slots. I REALLY need that to add more furniture.

But I really need them to do it in a way that won't alter the teleports I already laid out. I can't glitch or float teleports anymore. Cant move them outside the apt now. So if they do something like reset teleports in an apt, I won't be able to put a new pad B where the old pad B was. Home won't let me no more!

    Lockwood Publishing, Firefly, Jun 22, 2012, 4:26 PM, YourPSHome.net, jpg, PlayStation®HomeJP 4-2-2011 8-57-51.jpg

I'm VERY found of the glitches I have worked hours to set up in Home. Such as the above one in my Harbour apt. The pier is now usable thanks in part to the Sodium teleport. But if Lockwood alters it, I may lose all the work I've done. That would be extremely disappointing. For me at least.
