Beep…beep… Yeah that’s the sound Because once upon a time long long ago But NOT in a land far away Our imaginations were opened to a new path never thought of before Laying on the floor so long ago I think I was 3 maybe 4 Staring intently at the black screen Two white lines one dot Slipping sliding and gliding to my whim Did we ever thin back then This was only the beginning of a dynasty Capable of molding minds to creative bliss? NOW fast forward twenty or so years later Still I sit in my chair The lines and dots replaced by buxom heroines and high definition chaos Titillating our minds perversions all in glorious 5.1 surround sound Now I know what you’re thinking And NO im not some fat bear chugging Ramen eating couch potato who cant get a girl! NO im not the jobless hermit whore to energy drinks bound by the chains of my PS3! I PAY FOR MY ADDICTION WITH CASH NOT CREDIT! I smile when my daughter stands in front of the TV Because of curiosity triggered by gun shots thru speakers I laugh when I beat my wife in Soul Caliber Yet she still owns me in Scrabble I am a father A mother A sister A brother I am you and you are me Look into my mirror and realize I am the gamer! I wrote this poem about a year ago while I was deployed to Iraq. Writing, painting, and drawing are a good outlet when dealing with life's problems.
