This is all speculation, but Japan server won't start until the government gives the green light.

    In gPlayStation NetworkháŠQ‚ÉŠÖ‚·‚éÅVî•ñ | ƒvƒŒƒCƒXƒe[ƒVƒ‡ƒ“® ƒIƒtƒBƒVƒƒƒ‹ƒTƒCƒg,
    it states "2. 関係機関との協議など、サービス再開に向けた最終調整"
and the word "関係機関" means "Related Organizations" which is very vague,
but most probably it points to the "Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry."

It may take a while more for Japan to come back. I don't think the people working there have any clue and just want money.

Maybe, just maybe, a really good sign for PSN JP ?!? I tried signing in and was prompted to enter a new password. I changed my password but could not log on to the Network. I just hope that it only means that JP will be back up soon!!! And even more so for the Japanese than for me/us. I cannot wait, but I can hardly imagine what the wait is like after more than a month and probably many there are needing a little escape from reality. Best Wishes Japan and PS Japan.

BTW. I see nothing new on PS JP Update pages. (Also HK does nothing yet)

Maybe the reason we were able to change our JP passwords is that we've made purchases from the JP PSN Store?

I'll be so relieved once I've changed the password for my Asian account too. And once the PSN store is back online, the first thing I'm going to do is make sure I make new purchases on my EU, Asian and JP accounts.

Have people been able to change their JP account passwords? Oh I haven't been following this thread lately. Did anyone need to do an email reset?

I heard that a friend changed her HK password the first day NA went online. But after changing her password, PSN immediately went into offine maintenance mode.

I've made purchases from the HK psn store. but no luck here.

JoD, I just tried my HK acct on my old old ps3. (not my slim). It sent an email to me. I followed the link. But the web page just said PSN is in maintenance in japanese and english.

I think you need to have bought some downloadable content for it to let you change your password. But the password input page is down too.

    here's the page I got:

    https://store.playstation.com/countryNotSupportedLogout.action

This is completely off topic I'm sure, but at least is in the Japan thread. Does anybody remember the rolly awhile back that you could walk up to in home square and vote on music and stuff like? Well there was a song on there I liked by a japanese rock band but they sang in english. Does anybody remember what that group/song was? Tried doing google searches for japanese rock bands but is kinda pointless seeing as how I don't remember the band. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello wrx009,
This is PAZZ ^^, unfortunately, as of today 24 May 2011, Home Japan is still down for some reason.....not even PSN
    No Home, No Life LOL

Yea! I remember Rolly was there as well as in the Music Cafe while ago,......
Most likely, I think that is SAWA SAWA | Free Music, Tour Dates, Photos, Videos

    Across country (Home)

Hello, this is PAZZ currently live in Japan.

Does anyone know that you can across the country after the system update ver 3.61?
Cuz, I could completely change my US PSN password via US PSN website and I can sign-in US PSN website no problem (Luckily, my PC network server at work is located in US, so it detects US IP address), but unable to sign-in US PSN from my PS3 where located in my House)....

Someone told me that after the ver 3.61, it'll detects your IP address (which country you are connecting from and rejects your sign-in if you are try to across the country) is that truth?

    http://strongvpn.com/packages_regions.shtml

Home Japan is still down for some reason, but, does anyone who lives US can sign-in Home EU?

Hi Pazz, my understanding is that right now Japanese PSN users can't even sign into their own accounts, so hopefully this is just a temporary restriction. If it does become permanent, then JP PSN users will have to spoof NA IP addresses if they wish to access their NA accounts.

I live in the USA, and I'm able to sign into my NA and EU accounts. The Asian and JP Homes are still offline, but I was able to change the password on my JP account.
