I think Japan knows what really going on, that's why you don't see them protesting or paincing over it.

That's why you see many Japanese users making NA and EU accounts, because what there probably going to plan in the next coming months and possibly into next year is merge JP and Asia Home in to both EU and NA. There shutting new production in JP so they can negotiate some sort of a deal with there developers to like see if they can go over to NA and EU and what will there profit be from Dollars to Yen. So NA and EU will see more Japanese stuff then ever before even the items that were strictly Japan possibly. I strongly believe that's what Sony is trying to do by making NA and EU the hub of Home (well manly NA because were the highest spenders in the company). But it's going to take a lot of time to do this if this is the route there heading towards. If there not going to merge the regions then were probably going to get some of Japan Developers, just JP home will be still be there and not merge, and as for Asia no one care really that much because it's pretty much dead there anyway.

I don't think merging will ever happen because of the law and different inspection needed for each country. If this was possible, then we would have never seen a separate PSN account or PSN store in the first place.

It also means double checking standards and if one checking rejects, then that content will not be able to get released at all.

And according to this person who called Sony Japan support, anything that hasn't passed from SCEJ isn't supported to be accessed from a SCEJ account.

Yeah for EU, but not NA. Japan home maybe, well have you notice NA is getting more Japanese stuff in there stores that were strictly Japan, and vise versa. I think with the PS4 coming there trying to make everything region free, including Home. It's not like they can't do it, they did it before with E3. But if they don't merge it then you still see more JP users in EU and NA.

Ok then why are they shutting down New production in JP? If they do that, then don't they know some of there developers will look more in to over seas markets? Even in Japan some of them prefer other region items and so does NA.

Stuff from third party, yes. But none of SCEJ has ever been released so far.

And will the 9000 users (going by the Kikai event and not counting the native/foreigners mix) all convert? I'll predict only like 5% or less because of the restrictions of not be able to talk in Japanese will sway away people.

Ugh, more event stuff there. At least, that's something. What about Shoei Kingdom? Are they going to allow Shoei to update? That island they were teasing about has gone, and the quiz votes on their web page keep insisting that the Shoei guys would come at different hours. Even if that is true, then Sony needs to make it known somebody on the other end are doing the cast's accounts to run around the kingdom to keep it alive. Also, they should make more rewards from the points.

Pretty much an end of life, and move on to something else. SCEJ has cut personal resources to do Q&A for the items. This also is the reason if they merge, Q&A for Japan need to exist to have it accessible from a SCEJ account.

They can find a way to merge, Home will be like a melting pot of different languages just like EU and Asia. IDK it doesn't make since not to.

You really think those that haven't localized their content will do it? And SCEJ also needs to check every single 12000+ items in NA that wasn't released in JP and delete those items that are restricted. That's too much trouble for all.

Look at how much trouble Granzella is taking for them to release Neon to other regions (assuming they are still working for a release). Even peakvox takes a year to localize their content. GAW initially had plans for localization but pretty much threw the towel. (http://gawsoft.jp/image/blog.html) Will the NA or EU devs higher a person to do Japanese or spare their time going through a dictionary to do it? I don't think so.

That what I mean it will take a lot of time to unlock everything, shoot one of my friends from EU came over to NA and she was French and when so came over to EU she said everything is in french for here in NA. I ask here how she said based on her settings. And heck we almost got every major Japanese Developer over there, all were messing is Gaw and a few more. Like i said there probably talking it out with Sony and trying to come to some sort of a deal.

Are you really sure on this? I played around with having my settings as Spanish before a few years ago, but everything was English at that time.

I'm currently testing it in French, but only see everything in English still.

lol what? I don't even know where to start...

How many new users did you see resently that admited they were from Japan?

Why would a company have to shut down production in order to try to negotiate?

Do you think being in a laggy, overcrowded public space is going to motivate someone living in Japan to spend more money?

And it's not just the people living in Japan and Asia that will have to suffer with lag. It will effect you too if you are playing a mini game with one of them.

You do realize that exchange rates change daily, right? A profit, abit a slim one, won't always be made.

What is your answer to Crackle and the radio stations? And even if they did agree on a deal to allow them to be aired in Japan, it would be a laggy mess.

As Faga already touched on, they would be inviting a headache dealing with all the items and rewards. There are many items/rewards that simply wouldn't be allowed to be sold/rewarded under the current Japanese regulations.

I just logged into my NA account, switched the system language to Japanese and then went on Home. It's still in English.
Home doesn't detect your system language settings. It's possible that they could change Home so it could, but then what would you do about English text embedded in images or mini games?

No matter how you look at it a merger would be more trouble then it's worth with nothing to gain. Whatever Sony JP is planning, it's not a merger.

You need to factor in that they are not "Home only" developers. They produce other games for other platforms as well. Only Granzella is the exception though since they haven't gotten anything out yet while announcing a few games in the works 2 years ago.

peakvox released games for iOS, Playstation Home and DSi, 3DS, Wii ware, and is a private brand of O-Two.
O-Two also has association with creating a few games by other publishers, and also do website designs for other companies.

GAW released games for Playstation Home and Android, and is a private brand of Will.
Will also has association with creating a few games by other publishers.
