Working On a Post For the Official PS Forums

I am working on something, in which I do plan to post on the official PS forums. I don't know why, as it will most likely be ignored and bring the Sony defenders out in drones, but I feel my discontent should be out there.

Please note: This is in pieces, for the time being, as I'm just typing what has come to mind, lately, but sooner or later, it will all come together.

I'm a simple person to please, really I am. I have also been a long time Home user and have defended Home and bragged Home up, even when there wasn't much to Home. However, I am developing a love/loathe relationship with Home, recently.

So what I would like to do, is express my content and discontent with Home, through lists.

Here it goes...

Reasons I love Home:

1. Meeting people and socializing.

For one, not everyone can just take off and go somewhere, whenever they please, if they want to be out and about. (The disabled, for example.) Or maybe you're like me, who doesn't care to go out and party and you just live in a REALLY small town, where the population doesn't even reach 200, and you don't care to socialize with them, due to many good reasons.

So Home is great for meeting up with people and having a little chat. You don't have to know people, if you don't want to, like you learning their life story or them learning yours. You can just meet a variety of people and chat with them about whatever. Sometimes, you get lucky and find really good people and those are the ones you find yourself adding and becoming really good friends with.

2. The creativity that lies within the community.

I love to see where imaginations go, when it comes to avatar customization. There are many individuals out there in Home, that have come up with the coolest and craziest costumes for their avatars to wear. Sometimes, it's like stepping into a world someone made up in a book, with many odd creatures in it, that have come to life.

I also love to see how people have decorated their personal spaces. People come up with some very unique themes and styles, that are great inspiration to others.

And then, so far, this is what I have for why I am finding discontent in Home.

Things I loathe about Home:

1. Rewards bugs/glitches.

During Christmas time, I had a hell of a time with the jersey reward, from the Winter Hullabaloo space.

Here is my story:

"1. I have deleted and reinstalled Home, 6 times.

2. Cleared the Cache in Home, 6 times.

3. Deleted the Home file in the Game Data Utility folder, 6 times.

4. I have canceled the quest and done it over, 7 times.

5. I have sat in the round hot-tub, then went and sat in the hot-tub behind the Activity Board, while wearing the hat and shoes, 3 times. Each time I hung out in the hot-tubs, I gave my av 5 minutes to hang out in them.

The rest of these steps, I have done 50 times. I know this, because I kept track of the count.

6. I have taken the mistletoe hat and present shoes off and put them back on, before going to sit in the hot-tube for 10 minutes. Then going to the snowman and giving it an hour wait for the reward message to show up, after the snowman tells me he has a shirt for me.

7. I have put the football hand item on my av, while wearing the hat and shoes, then sitting in the hot-tub behind the Activity Board, for 10 minutes, and then going to the snowman. I give the wait for the reward message an hour.

Each and every time I go to the snowman to get the jersey, the HDD will pop up, then go away, then pop up again, and go away again. It will do this for the whole time that I am there and there is lag that comes with it. You would think an hour or even an hour and a half would get me the reward, if the space is laggy, but it doesn't. I never see a reward message and I never find the jersey in my wardrobe or in my storage.

I am at my wits end and incredibly ****** off, that I can not get the jersey. I am sick and tired of repeating the same steps I have seen suggested, only to still end up with no jersey. I can't even try to get the other rewards from the winter event, because I can't get that blasted jersey. I'm getting extremely tired of even looking at the name of the winter space in the navigator, because I have spent so much time going to it and so much time being in it, just for that **** jersey to never show up.

I really did not expect this much of a headache from the holiday event. I have been trying since Thursday to get that jersey and it's now Saturday. Does the insanity ever end, Sony? Are you going to let me have the rest of my rewards or just tell me I'm sol?"

I did try a few other ideas, that some friends gave me, but those did not help me, either. So a couple days later, after that lovely rant of mine, and after I had time to realize that it would be impossible for me to shove my foot up Sony's butt, I tried something that I remembered from a really long time ago.

I cannot recall what the reward was from, it might have been from the Christmas Tree, that was in Central Plaza, a couple years back. (The event should be remembered well, considering you had to have certain items, in order to get the rewards from the Christmas Tree.) Anyway, there was a certain reward, that was not showing up for us females, unless we switched to a male avatar.

So I jokingly said to myself, while laughing a bit insanely, "Maybe if my avatar is male, I can get the jersey and the rest of the rewards.".

Let me tell you, my laugh went from insane to psychotic, because that trick was the trick that worked. Yet, I still felt annoyed that I had to go to that length, just for some freebies. Freebies, which everyone is entitled to get, because let's face it, they are free. But I believe Sony loves it when customers have to jump through hoops, even for something free.

Do I have to stand up to pee, in real life? No. So why do I need to put on a male avatar in Home, in order to win rewards, from time to time? Please, Sony, explain that one to me.

Honestly, these hiccups should have been cleared up, a LONG time ago. Keeping the Beta tag on Home, is a really sad and poor excuse for why you can't get the simplest of things straightened out for good.

As far as I knew, the money I spent in Home was going towards improving Home, yet I am confused as to why the same problems keep occurring, time and time again.

What do you do to your devs, Sony? Wake them up in the middle of the night and tell them to get to work or do you rely on little monkeys that fling poo at one another to the work of the devs come update time?

It scares me that reason 1 is so long, for reasons I loathe Home, and the fact that I haven't even touched other reasons, YET.
