Can you get to any space from any region provieded your invited? I joined a friend in the Godfather2 space; but I'm in EU. So can I (potentially) get to Genzella?
Thanks Carla! Much appreciative of the update again. I also appreciate the pictures of the new rewards to win. I saw them in Home. Seems like the prizes are better for females. At least it's easy to get points .And thanks again for the chat box fix! I'm happily cruising on iPad again. It works perfectly. I was wondering. You mention about the high bandwidth. This is pretty much normal for Home lately to have bandwidth problems. You know the internal guts of Home well. What do you think needs to be done to fix this? Add another server to run the mini games? Or for Sony to just pay more for a better home server?
To me it seems like a load balancing problem, that could be down to a few things. 1) the Home network it self could not have the total number of servers needed to deal with peak loads. 2) The servers they have might not be getting leveled out over the full network, eg they might have 6 servers running at full loads and a other 6 hardly being used. But i could be totally wrong, but Home does not seem to balance very good, eg half of it works fine and the new parts get mass errors to the 'busy peak' dies down. Already Granzella space is getting better, because its not being hit by users from all regions going to it trying to play it. Home as always had this load problem when it comes to new spaces or live events, check E3 and EU's music events. Load balancing is an means of taking several servers and distributing the compute load so that individual servers do not get overloaded with requests, in a real world that would mean all servers would be running around about the same % of cpu and memory usage.
Folks: At least as of this morning, it DOES NOT SEEM that the UFC server isues get better with lighter traffic. I happened to be awake at 4:30AM EDT, and quickly popped to my UFC personal space. Even then, there were server issues. I also noticed something interesting. I WAS able to play UFC games in the personal space on Saturday afternoon. What I noticed was during a game, there was NO activity (as indicated by the console lights) on either Ethernet OR hard disk. What that IMPLIES is this: it APPEARS that the mini-game code is run ON the PS3, then the results uploaded to UFC servers.
Thanks Carla! That explains a lot. I wish they would do something about peak usage times. I guess they don't want to spend the extra dough. I think it's more of what you call load balancing. I get the distinct impression that mini games have their own servers per game. Hmmm. Heavy might know.I guess I can ask him sometime.
I wish they would get that Granzella space working right, I got 4 jet ski's ready to be raced. I did get a couple of plays in on sunday and a few goodies from the water but it's always so packed in there that it's next to impossible to get a play. I would get stranded in the water and have to navigate out of the game to another space. I'd like to know how many visitors have been there already.:bye:
When are they going to fix the ufc space? Because each time i enter my personal space of ufc nothing works its the same in the public space nothing works.:cursing::taz:
