Home Cribs is presented by the Home Decorators Guild and YPSH. The board members of the HDG will be moderating this area of YPSH and answering all of your questions about PS Home decorating and how to post your creations.

There is a separate message thread (Home Decorators Guild thread) for you talk about anything to do with the Home Decorators Guild. The Guild, like YPSH, has a goal that is the same as ours, which is to support the PS Home Community.

Thanks once again to YPSH member @drake21734 or Stacey. Stacey was kind enough to create our Dressing Room logo and now again with our Home Cribs logo. Her work is on our banner at the top of the site, which by the way, you can click on it for easy access to The Dressing Room or Home Cribs.

Please read the next message with details on how to use Home Cribs and welcome @Boxer.Lady, @VickyTheVampire, @Gilgamesh680, and @Slav (HDG Board and Moderators) to YPSH and HOME CRIBS!

 

As with The Dressing Room, Home Cribs will fully utilize one of YPSH's features .... the Showcase. The Showcase will be the place to post your photos (or videos!), leave comments, reviews and details about your crib shoots. It will help organize things and make topics easier to find. Instead of having one huge thread, each time you post to the Showcase (as shown below) it will create a new thread, properly labeled, within Home Cribs.

If you just want to post an idea with one or two photos, then just create your own thread as usual. However, if you want to post an entire shoot or highlight a new release on PS Home and review it, the Showcase is the way to go.

Here's how it works......

The following step by step guide will show you how to post your crib to the sites Showcase system.

- First click the "Showcase" button from the sites menu to load the showcase

- In the upper right click "Create Item".

- Next up you need to choose a category, Home Cribs, and then click "Continue".

​

- Once on the Create Item page you need to fill in the following information.

Item Name = The name of your crib shoot

Item Description = A short description/summary of your shoot

Next, you use the main text editor box to type in and format your text and include information about your crib shoot; going into detail about the items used and your views and tips on the items, e.g., how well a particular lamp goes with other items. Don't forget you can also format your text with images, just like any normal site post. (As being done here)

- Next click the "Upload Images to Gallery" button and upload the images of your crib shoot.

- The next step is to click the "Sidebar Fields" tab. Here, if you wish, you can enter extra information that will show in the side bar of the page, e.g., a quick bit of text with full name, costs, who the developer is.

- Up next, click on "Self Place Fields". Here you can put more info about what was used in your cribs shoot. You most tick "Cribs Start" & Cribs End". Fill in the boxes with the info about what you used in your cribs shoot. Note the items marked "required".

- Last up, press the "Create Item" button.

Your crib shoot will now be added to the Showcase system, where you may give it a star rated review, or post a quick comment or join in the full discussion. You did it! You're all done! Easy!

Note your able to edit your Showcase listing after posting, and also a discussion thread will automatically be made, within the "Home Cribs" forum, to highlight that a new item has been posted and for people to talk about it or ask for help.

There you have it. It's easy and it will make Home Cribs the most advanced place around for posting ALL of your Home decorating ideas and shoots.
