Okay, have to say the To Mend a Broken Heart challenge was quite fun for a holiday event. So far, "Orson's Throne Room" has been a decent & entertaining event, and was mostly trouble free. Hope it continues that way.

Very glad this second update also knocked a couple minutes of thenloading & exiting times. Whew!

But must admit the Robin Williams Clone-Elves Army of Christmas Past still just gives me the creeps after several years… just… <*shiver*>.

Sadly, did have a couple glitches yet again — one mildly irritating, one fairly cool.

The 'irritant': Yet again I've an event where automatically-earned rewards are not received by my account at first (and no reward earned notice ever appears onscreen). Thankfully, the usual exiting & re-entering Home made the Present Station show up finally. (A long standing issue along with the still-occurring wardrobe issue; obviously still not fixed in NA after far-too-many months. What a surprise.)

The 'cool': I found I had received the auto-equipped clothing item from the Elfish ones. When I first completed the toy warehouse area, upon being booted into The Hub I was still donning the brown winter coat from the game (with the teddy in the right pocket). Nice! unfortunately, it didn't go into my permanent wardrobe inventory; not really a surprise. Upon leaving Home or changing clothes, the coat *poofed* from existence. Think of it as similar to the "Edo" temp bathhouse towels.

I haven't any idea how I did it, but the glitch activated again when I left the game a second time later. But I couldn't get it to repeat again afterwards (yet).

Anyway, I'd normally say "trust me" on this, but here's a screenshot I grabbed afterwards in The Hub. See for yourselves…

And with that, I hope Robot Santa doesn't find you on his naughty list this year (remember to keep your pased plasma rifle in the 40-watt range — or similar — on hand just in case. Maybe Sony will also honor us with a Clone-Elves Shooting Gallery mini game before years' end!

    Enjoyeth…

I really really need to comprehend that concept of typing way-shorter novellas… it's not a competition.

      Um, unless it is…?!

Writing is a talent, what you wrote above, was just about right... for me, not too long, but pretty comprehensive and most importantly, "fun to read"

Just to say, I've updated with some pics; Album: orson Elf room | YourPSHome.net - Your PlayStation Home Community

        hope they help.

Press and hold triangle for map.

If you are behind and elf, fairly close, press square to magically make the elfs lamp go out, then move/run past them.

        Hide behind presents

Don't run "too" close to elves as they will "hear" you

Press and hold x when at a present station.

You only need to stop by 4 workshop benches to finish the game, not all 5. When you finish your 4th, you're automatically warped back to Orson and then rewarded with the workshop bench for yourself.

          :)

That's what I typed yesterday, but I think I was on my phone & it didn't format well!!! lol, that first post I put was meant to say the 4 workbench tries needed.

I mean, you put it more succinctly than I did any way :)

          #AutocorrectEpicFail

          Ty for posting Recca :)

          :notworthy:

Oh-so-modest me agrees fully of course! But thanks, appreciate the sentiments. Glad I'm totally boring you — and perhaps for one other poor soul out there somewhere —with my nonsense.

As that would just be dull…. and sucky!

But seriously, I'm amazed at times I've not dropped myself into a coma reading my own posts and seeing what sort of puerile pap has managed to escape from the old grey matter above. Scary…!

Don't get me started on #AutoCorrectFail, especially when dropping Tapatalk + an iPhone into the mixture. Both certainly convenient, but both together nearly always require subsequent corrections you never knew you needed (at first).

How can Tapatalk still fail to parse the most standard of BBcoding for color, formatting, etc.? And only two BBcode tags can be directly inserted,
          Code:
          [URL] & [IMG]
but not when highlighting text. Certainly must be beyond our best programmers. Unless they are our young-uns. Guess they couldn't borrow a 4-year-old who'd produce working code in exchange for some pudding cups.

Even their newest "we so updated this thing" version released last week takes a big step backwards by now displaying the tag codes themselves (not the results) onscreen all with the "final" post. Lame. So you've must use a proper web view after to even know if anything was done correctly. WTH?! (Just like I had to re-edit this again, since once I saw the messy post post!)

See Adrain, this is what occurs when (1) I'm bored, and (2) I've zip to contribute for now on Orson & His Merry Troupe of Elf-Comedians.

So babble spews forth like a technicolor yawning of text upon the screen. Ick. Thus novella occurs once again. None can win.

Yes, I know, I sound like Howard the Duck here: "Trapped in a World He Never Made"!

          Ciao, fellow spuds & spudettes…

Round 3 of this 'event' after acquiring at least 3 Gifts from an Elf gone rogue after admiring his work, you get -drum roll- The Perfect Present! (A present made with purest magic.) a lovely little (not really that little, since it is bigger than any other gift box i have, including the one from Spunland's Spunmas) box wrapped in Golden snowflake wrapping paper and tied with a white snowflake patterned ribbon. (included in this image are the three currently available rewards: the Heart of Ice Trophy, Elf Workshop Table [which is mysteriously an active item] and The Perfect Present!)

It was a bit tough, since there's no map for the maze and the dark elf is nearly everywhere close to you no matter where you are, but I managed to win it in EU Home. Grabbed 4 gifts and finally won! Now for NA Home... lol

I wish the present could've been opened on Christmas Day like so many others before it, but no, it's just an plain ornamental item. :p

this one was a bit on the hard side but i managed to finish it on my NA after about 10 times, considering having NO map and Zero way of knowing where this elf was any where in the 'old castle'. completed it in one go on my EU acct. :hamster-dance:just hope they ease up a bit on the 'difficulty' level in Round 4

The Third Mutated Gelfling Games was a little… odd.

You hide, the disgruntled Elf goes temporarily deaf & blind, and you run off in the opposite direction.

Only to discover the Elf has already planned for this and magically teleported in front of you. Totally opposite from where you left him/her/it behind.

What the – - ? Thought it was just one Elf here against the rest of the world.

I'm now thinking it'll suddenly turn into the North Pole version of Deliverance… with an entire creepy Elf clan coming after me
seeking some "most dangerous game" fun.

            <*shudder*>

You betcha! Have them all favorited in both regions, just in case!

I only just got up; so just finishing eating + enjoying my bottomless coffee mug. Let me know when you want to do this - and where - and I'll head over… (assuming Home will be working when I turn my unit on).

Just hope it works. I've never tried going back to a previous ice challenge yet. Hope the bookmarks all lead to the separate areas, rather than just the main current Orson spot. Guess we'll find out.

If it works as it should, if anyone else needs to replay one of those, just let me know.

            C'ya!

              Just heading into NA now.

Could've sworn we added each other outside Japan faga, but apparently not. Just whiz me over an FR and i'll sneak you in:

              NA: BaronBrain
              UK: BaronBrainUK
(I know, such original IDs those)

Let me check that the earlier ones even load correctly. Trying it now…

UPDATE: Yes, they certainly do! They do not just default to the current Orson area/Xmas tree in the Hub.
Nope, only #2 & #3 are working correctly.

UPDATE #2: Seems I spoke too quickly about Challenge #1. Though it appears to load into the correct area, it instead goes into Challenge #3 after meeting with Orson. (Seems to default to the main Orson's Throne Room link, as if you accessed it via the Hub's "Christmas Tree" link.) The original ice cave challenge is confirmed gone/non-working (for now) in both the US & UK!

But Challenge #2 DEFINITELY still works in both regions!

              And…

UPDATE #3: For now, I recommend absolutely completing "A Full Heart" — the current challenge —ASAP, at least in NA, or it may be gone forever after. At first, my faving of #3 did not work in NA, but when I just logged back in again, it was magically there, as if nothing went ever wrong earlier. Hopefully, if you later DO need #3, this will indeed work. But just in case…

And yes, my #3 fave is still saved separately in the UK. No weird glitches. Hopefully it won't be a future issue either!

My pleasure faga! Glad I could help!

Appears the difficulty was increased a bit on Challenge #3. I had no real problems doing it before, but today's Challenge attempts took forever.

Nearly every time the "hiding" ended, I'd take a step only to require another immediate hiding place (had that occur 7 times in a row before having had enough and just offing myself to restart it).

Also too many instances of finally reaching the present, only to find it repeatedly inaccessible — because the Elf was standing directly in front of it (by a couple inches!), and would always still be in the exact spot when I returned again… and again. Longest I gave this routine was 7 attempts, the did it anew again.

Lastly, today was also my first time repeatedly being stopped while grabbing a present. I'd be a second away max from obtaining it when the Elf suddenly is just standing there. , but the self you cannot finish grabbing it, and are forded to run.

Just seems beating it now relies mainly on random luck as opposed to even a bit of skill. At the same time, you can actually outrun the Elf for a short bit while now when seeking that hiding
